Her Story so far…
I bought Kulta (Formally AKARE) in June and sailed from Antigua , via, Guadalupe – St Lucia and Grenada before arriving in Trinidad and Tobago. Having lived in trinidad for the past 20+ years it was time to give up the car and apartment and take the decision to sail around the World, which has been on my mind for so long!
‘KULTA’ is now my home and the Oceans my back yard to explore.
Having sailed all my life I was looking for the right boat, and then came across this beautiful 43 ft cutter, begging to hit the high sea’s.
She was in remarkable condition for her age and the previous owners had invested in some quality gear, both on deck and below. Like all boats there is always room for improvements and personal requirements, but being from the old school of sailing I prefer to navigate with traditional paper charts and sextants rather than rely totally on electronic systems.
Over the coming months this site will document all the preparation work and maintenance needed to start this life-changing adventure.
I do hope you will follow along and enjoy both the ride and experience. Thanks for sharing and follow my blog ‘Blow-By-Blow’ for daily updates.
